Robert C. Myers

Robert C. Myers, age 80, of Mattoon, IL peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Willow Breeze Hospice House. A funeral service in his honor will be held at noon, Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938; Reverend Don Pankey will officiate. A committal service will immediately follow in Union Cemetery in Morgan Township. Military Rites will be performed by Mattoon VFW Post 4325. The visitation will be held the same day from 10:00 AM with Masonic Rites performed by Toledo Masonic Lodge #834 at 11:40 AM. Bob was born on February 20,1945 in Charleston, IL to the late James R. and Mary E. (Orr) Myers. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kelly Morgan and husband Jason, Brandie Maple and husband Eric, both of Mattoon, IL; four grandchildren: Nathan and Olivia Morgan, Whitney Janssen, and Emily Maple, all of Mattoon, IL; one great-grandson, Carter Guymon; brother, James “Jim” H. Myers and wife Cheryl of Rardin, IL; sister, Rebecca “Becky” Hackett of Charleston, IL; niece, Karen Strader and husband Gene of Lerna, IL; and long-time significant other and caretaker, Maria Manfred (Binalizo) of Mattoon, IL. He was preceded in death by infant brother, Richard Myers and infant sister, Mary Myers, and Charlene S. Myers. Bob proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from 1963 until 1967. After his honorable discharge, he went to work for the Illinois Department of Transportation in highway maintenance for twenty-five years, retiring in 2001. He was a former member of Rardin Presbyterian Church and attended Pleasant Grove Church. He was a member of Toledo Lodge #834, served as Past Master three times and attained the 32nd Degree Consistory of Danville, IL. Bob enjoyed traveling all over the country on his motorcycle, fishing, golfing, and playing poker. He lived a full life, but his greatest accomplishment was his family. He loved his daughters dearly and treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, teaching them many valuable lessons. Bob will be greatly missed and always remembered.
