Albert Thomas "Tom" Endsley

Albert Thomas “Tom” Endsley, age 72, of Humboldt, IL passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. A funeral service in his honor will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938; Reverend Brad Brown will officiate. The committal service will immediately follow in Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, IL. The visitation will be held the same day from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Tom was born on January 26, 1954, in Gary, IN to the late Kenneth M. and Helen M. (Wheeler) Endsley. He married his forever love, Becky S. Fair, on July 11, 1975, in Tuscola, IL. He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Endsley of Humboldt, IL; two devoted daughters, Heather M. Smith and husband Todd of Lerna, IL, Heidi A. House and husband Brodie of Mattoon, IL; four grandchildren: Lane Plummer of Chicago, IL, Logan Plummer of Mattoon, IL, Adalyn Smith of Lerna, IL, Rueger House of Mattoon, IL; two brothers, Tim L. Endsley of Orlando, FL, Olen E. Frahm of Bourbon, IL. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Rick and Barry Denbo; and granddaughter, Emery C. House. Tom lived a life filled with love, laughter, service, and devotion to the people and passions that meant the most to him. He dedicated many years of service as a crane operator for IDOT. Tom was also a proud member of the American Legion and Eagles Lodge, both in Mattoon, and was known for the kindness, encouragement, and time he gave to others, especially through youth sports. He coached his daughters in Humboldt youth league T-ball and softball, youth league basketball in Mattoon, and also assisted with Mattoon Pride softball, leaving behind many cherished memories for his daughters and the young athletes and families he supported. Tom found great joy on the golf course and was a talented golfer who played in many area golf leagues, including Meadowview, Rogala Public Links, Arcola Golf & Country Club, and many other local courses. He was a loyal sports fan who loved cheering on the Illini, the Chicago Bears, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He also treasured traveling with his wife, Becky, especially to Florida and Texas, with Padre Island and Cocoa Beach holding a special place in his heart. More than anything, Tom loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He enjoyed his monthly “Brothers Breakfast” with his brothers and grandsons when they were able to join. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to those around him, and the memories he created will be held close forever. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
