Ruth Wolf

Ruth Wolf, age 91 of Charleston, IL formerly of Mattoon, IL passed away at 4:20 PM, Monday, January 24, 2022, at Villas of Holly Brook Assisted Living and Memory Care in Charleston, IL. A celebration of life in her honor will take place at a later date. Ruth was born on April 16, 1930, in Chicago, IL to the late Nathan and Esther Wittenberg. She married Ronald Wolf on October 28, 1951; he preceded her in death September 18, 2020. She is survived by one daughter, Janis Wolf and husband Dennis Stevens of Punta Gorda, FL: one granddaughter, Natalie Wright; and one great-grandson, Oscar Floeter. She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Wolf; two brothers, Eugene Wittenberg, Joseph Wittenberg; and one sister, Rose Flight. Ruth was a member of the Mattoon Jewish Community Center in Mattoon, IL. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in her family. From traveling the world and taking numerous vacations with her loved ones to playing bridge, Ruth always had a joy and appreciation for life. She will be deeply missed by all.
