Patricia Ann Bontrager, age 45, of Mattoon, IL passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign-Urbana, IL. A private burial will take place at a later date in Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, IL. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938 is in charge of the services. Patricia was born on February 1, 1975 in Mattoon, IL to late Ronald D. Carter and Rose A. Willison. She is survived by her husband, Floyd I. Bontrager who she married on December 30, 1996 in Mattoon, IL. Other survivors to cherish her memory include her two children, Brittney L. McFarland of Mattoon, IL and Tyler E. Bontrager of Myakka City, FL. Patricia was formerly employed by RR Donnelley’s in Mattoon, IL. She enjoyed Sunday gatherings with her daughter and family. She cherished and adored the invested time she had with her family and friends. Patricia would never be seen without her beloved dog, Ellie. Ellie would go with her everywhere no matter the destination. Patricia had a kind and empathetic heart and always had a love for every animal no matter what kind. Her passion for animals led to her to a point to which she had goats, chickens, horses, pigs, geese, and everything in between. She touched many lives in the short time she was on this earth and will be immeasurably missed.
