He survives and resides in Greeley, CO. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Karen (Ken) Boswell of Windsor, IL, and Margene (Steve) Stahle of Orinda, CA; two step-daughters, Linda Vogel of Greeley, CO, and Annie (Bruce) Walk of Bloomington, IL; one sister, Lucille (Max) Fleming of Bourbonnais, IL; five grandchildren: Jeff (Aimee) Boswell of Mattoon, IL; Cindi (Lynn) Owens of Shelbyville, IL, Lindsey (Ryan) Foss, Curtis (Caitlin) Stahle, and Kristen (James) Jennings, all of California; and eleven great grandchildren: Jeffrey and Mattisen Boswell; Dalton, Nicole, and Macy Owens; Jordan Foss; Calvin and Charles Stahle; and Jazper, Hopper and Sandon Jennings. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Doris Morton and Leora Cripe. Mary Lou graduated from Lovington High School in 1946. She was a homemaker and mother, often assisting with the daily operation of the Cal Stickel Grain Elevator in Etna, IL. In later years, she served as House Mother of the Chi Omega Sorority on Bradley University Campus in Peoria, IL. After retiring from there, she worked 10 more years as a receptionist at the Morton Community Bank in Morton, IL. She was a member of the Neoga Grace United Methodist Church and also a member, holding various offices, of the American Business Women’s Association and the Etna Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s Lodge. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Lou particularly enjoyed celebrating holidays and birthdays with family. She taught us the love of entertaining, often cooking gourmet meals or her famous fondues (if you lose your bread, you have to kiss the cook) for friends and family. Proper etiquette was high on her list of things the grandchildren and great-grandchildren must learn! Mary Lou enjoyed her retirement years with Fritz. She loved watching the birds that he fed daily outside their kitchen window and knitting blankets for family members. She enjoyed a long and full life and leaves us a legacy of love. Memorials in her honor may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Association or the organization of the donor’s choice.
