She was honored as their oldest and longest attending member in 2019. She attended Joy Bible Study regularly for many years, where she developed deep friendships. Throughout the years, Marian served God as she taught, chaired many committees, directed kitchen ministries and until Covid hit and they could not meet anymore, she was the phone person for the Circle Group, making sure everyone knew of their meetings. She was also a part of their prayer circle. While living in Mattoon, IL Marian proudly and joyfully taught at the Adult Education Center from the late 60’s to early 70’s. She was a born teacher and loved contributing to her student’s future success. Staying connected to family and friends was a priority for Marian and John so throughout years they drove from Illinois to California and North Carolina visiting and celebrating along their way and upon reaching their destination. Marian’s presence in so many lives will be greatly missed. Her family treasured her love and her strength which she was shown throughout her life, especially in the last few years and weeks.
