Lydia “Jane” Davis, age 98 of Mattoon, IL passed away at 6:50 AM, Friday, May 6, 2022, at Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL. A graveside service in her honor will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 9, 2022, at Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, IL. Pastor Ron Dickinson will officiate. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938 is in charge of services. Jane was born February 27, 1924, in Charleston, IL to the late Arthur Nelson and Rita (Votaw) Roberts. She married H. Donald Davis on August 17, 1983, in Mattoon, IL; he preceded her in death November 19, 1996. She had a large family that included many brothers and one sister, and numerous nephews and nieces. Jane was employed as a stenographer at Mass Mutual in Mattoon, IL where she retired after many years of devoted service. As a long time Methodist, she actively practiced her faith in Jesus Christ throughout her life. Shopping, reading, working puzzles, and outings with friends and family were the activities she enjoyed most. Jane will be fondly remembered by all.
