MATTOON-John 'Jack' Edward Patrick Mullally, PhD., age 85, of Mattoon, passed away 9:40 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2007 at Louisville, Kentucky.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:45 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Kollross officiating. Funeral services and burial will be at a later date in Cleveland, Ohio.\r\n\r\nJohn was born August 28, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Thomas and Mary (Howard) Mullally. He married Mary Lehane in 1956, she preceded him in death in 1993. He is survived by two sons, Brendan Mullally of Louisville, Kentucky and Sean Mullally of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and grandchildren, Gabriel, Maureen and Matthew Mullally.\r\n\r\nJohn was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Mattoon. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a retired Professor of Germanic Languages at Eastern Illinois University.
