Jerry Lynn Taylor, age 55, of Mattoon passed away at 9:58 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008, at the Apostolic Center in Mattoon with Reverend Derold Doughty and Reverend Shine Doughty officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until service time. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Taylor was born September 8, 1952 in Charleston, Illinois the daughter of Orean Brosam and Neva of Gays and Patricia Barnett and George of Neoga. She married Bruce Taylor on December 21, 1974 in Mattoon, Illinois; he survives. Also surviving is their son, Aaron Taylor of Mattoon and daughter Mari Lee (Kevin) of O''Fallon, Mo. She leaves one brother Reverend James Brosam and wife Jackie of Clinton, Indiana, four sisters Debbie Hostetler and husband Charlie of Sullivan, Ramona Whalin of Gays, Michelle Harris of Charleston and Janny Garmon of Mattoon. Other survivors include two granddaughters Isabel and Alexis McCarty both of Mattoon. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by one brother, David Brosam. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Apostolic Center in Mattoon where she was in charge of the nursery class. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and cross stitching. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and caring for her family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Center, Mattoon, in care of the nursery class.
