Harriet Joyce Blakemore

Harriet Joyce Blakemore, age 91 passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2022, at Odd-Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938 is in charge of services. Harriet was born on March 16, 1930, in Milwaukee, WI to late John V. and Harriet B. (Scott) Moore. She married her husband, Wendell F. Blakemore on December 19, 1948, in Mattoon, IL; he preceded her in death on July 22, 1995. She is survived by four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Harriet is preceded in death by two sons, John, and Bruce Blakemore; one daughter, Joyce Graziano; one grandson, Brian Blakemore; one brother, William Moore; and one sister, Mary Hunter. Harriet was a former employee of General Electric in Mattoon, IL and later retired from K-Mart after twenty-eight years of service. She was a long-time member of the Southern Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, cooking, and flower gardening. However, family was most important to Harriet, and she loved spending time with her loved ones. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
