attoon-Geraldine C. 'Jeri' Goar, age 88, of Mattoon, formerly of Olney, passed away at 10:20 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Odd-Fellow Rebekah Home. \r\n\r\nThe funeral service celebrating her life will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Mark Prevo officiating. Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until service time. \r\n\r\nMrs. Goar was born August 31, 1919, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Harold V. and Macel M. (Elston) Malone. She married George M. Goar in Tuscola, Illinois on June 2, 1938. He passed away in 1995. Survivors include their son, Mike Goar and wife Jeanine of Florida; a brother, Virgil Malone and wife Doris of Texas; two sisters, Caroline Hutson of Mattoon, and Nancy Haines of California; two grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters. \r\n\r\nMrs. Goar was formerly employed by Anaconda as a data processor.
