Frances I. Utley

Frances Ilene Utley, age 78 of Mattoon, IL passed away at 9:41 AM Monday, February 15, 2021 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. A graveside service in her honor will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston, IL. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938 is in charge of services. Frances was born on February 20, 1942 to the late Roy Millard and Bessie Irene (Carlen) Utley. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Wanda Utley of Mattoon, IL; two nephews, Joseph Utley Jr. and wife Cindy of Mattoon, IL and William Utley of Mattoon, IL; one niece Kim Plummer of Mattoon, IL; one great-niece; two great-nephews; and one great-great niece; and one great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph C. Utley. Frances was employed at General Electric in Mattoon, IL for several years. She enjoyed gambling, shopping, and making ceramics. Known for her eccentric personality, Frances had a passion for life and knew how to get the most enjoyment out of it. She was a talented cook and enjoyed hosting mouthwatering dinner parties displaying a banquet of foods for her guests to savor. Frances will be remembered for her fun-loving personality.
