Mattoon, IL-Verneda H. (Strohl)(Morgan) Hubbart, age 91, of Mattoon, IL, passed on to her heavenly home at 7:20 p.m., August 25, 2014, while at the Mattoon Health Care Center. \r\n\r\nThe funeral service in her honor will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2014, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938, with Reverend James Maroon officiating. Interment will be in Beals Cemetery, Trilla, IL. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m., until the service begins. \r\n\r\nBorn in Mattoon, IL, on June 9, 1923, Verneda was the daughter of Clarence and Elva (White) Strohl. She married Billy Morgan on October 11, 1941. He passed away on March 28, 1962. She later married Larry Hubbart on April 26, 1973. He passed away on May 19, 1979. Survivors include two children, William Morgan and wife Jill, and Ann Daniels, all of Mattoon, IL; eight grandchildren, Brenda K. Banks and husband David of Imperial, MO, Kim S. Spink of Vienna, IL, Phillip D. Morgan and wife Tara of Mattoon, IL, Stephen B. Morgan of Sterling, IL, Robert A. Isaacs of Mattoon, IL, Candice K. Potter of Effingham, IL, Heather D. Hughes and husband Jared of Humboldt, IL, and Heidi D. Morgan of Mattoon, IL; brother-in-law, Charles and wife Lillis of Toledo, IL; sisters-in-law Jeanne Strohl of Indianapolis, IN, and Thelma Strohl of Washington, IL, and daughters-in-law, Linda Armstrong and Diana Morgan. She leaves many great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren through her marriage to Larry; with whom she interacted and loved dearly. She also had many nieces and nephews that she loved and enjoyed being with whenever possible. She was preceded in death by two sons, David Morgan and Dan Morgan; and two grandsons, Roy Isaacs and Keith Morgan; and four brothers, Rob, Bert, Lloyd, and Bud Strohl.\r\n\r\nAfter raising her children, Verneda became employed and retired from General Electric in 1984. She was also a self-employed beautician for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion General Baptist Church, a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Trilla/Neoga, Royal Neighbors of America, and THEOS. Other memberships included the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and Ladies of the Moose Lodge of Mattoon, IL, for many years. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and participating with various craft organizations. \r\n\r\nVerneda recently advised her children not to grieve for her, as she stated many times 'I have been blessed with a long life, a good family, and more good friends than anyone could expect to have.'
