Sandy Kay Waters

Sandra Kay Waters, age 81 of Effingham, IL formerly of Mattoon, IL passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL. A funeral service in her honor will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, April 22, 2024, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home in Mattoon, IL. Reverend Don Pankey will officiate. A committal service will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Mattoon, IL. The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Sandra was born on June 12, 1942, in Charleston, IL to the late Ernest and Alma (Cutright) Arnett. She married Floyd L. Waters on August 19, 1958, in Toledo, IL; he survives and resides in Effingham, IL. She is also survived by three children: Penny Goodrich and husband Bob of Mattoon, IL, DeAnn Reinhart and husband Mike of Bloomfield, IN, Mark Waters and wife Ammie of Ashmore, IL; ten grandchildren: Michelle Lockhart and husband Joe, Lisa Poffinbarger and husband Mike, Amber Jarvis-West and significant other Jonathan Tipton, Joel Goodrich and significant other Destyne Arthur, James Goodrich, Joshua Goodrich, Mallory Davis and husband Mike, Zachary Waters, Kelly Reinhart and wife Sara, John Reinhart; twelve great-grandchildren: Darien Connelly and significant other Robert Marshall, Collin Nihiser and significant other Tasha Johnston, Grace Lockhart, Haiden Croy, Arya West, Kason Davis, Jaxon West, Emily Davis, Asa Davis, Samuel Davis, Adalynn Goodrich, and Jayden Tipton; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Chancellor; one sister, Edith Smith; one great-grandchild, Riley Lockhart. Sandra was a clerk at Midgard Comics in Charleston, IL. Prior to that she was employed at General Electric in Mattoon, IL. A faithful member of Winebrenner Church of God in Mattoon, IL Sandra served as the church clerk. As an avid collector of precious moments, Sandra especially treasured the ones she received as gifts. She enjoyed traveling to Branson Missouri with her husband and sewing. As a mother and grandmother, she was always active in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
