Ruth Lucier

Ruth Lucier\r\nMattoon, IL-Ruth Lucier, age 78, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 10:43 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home. \r\n\r\nThe funeral service in her honor will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2011, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL. Reverend John Titus will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mattoon, IL. The visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.\r\n\r\nRuth was born January 31, 1934, in Mattoon, IL, The daughter of Everett and Eunice (Griffith) Henne. She married William Lucier on July 18, 1953 in Mattoon, IL. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Steve Lucier and wife Lee Ann of Lawrenceburg, IN, Renee Hildebrand and husband Alan, of Mattoon, IL, Mark Lucier of Mattoon, IL, and Kevin Lucier and wife Lisa of Marietta, GA; and one sister, Carol Edwards and husband David of Humboldt, IL. She leaves nine grandchildren, eleven great-granchildren. \r\n\r\nRuth was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and former co-owner of the Fireplace and Light Shoppe in Mattoon, IL. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, American Business Women's Association, and was a former Majorette and clarinet player. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting, and playing cards; however, she treasured time with her family more than anything.
