Patsy A. Huffman\r\nMattoon, IL-Patsy A. Huffman, age 83, of Mattoon, IL, went to be with the Lord, at 9:43 a.m., Monday, July 09, 2012, at the Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL. \r\nA celebration of her life will begin at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938. Pastor Steve Hayes will officiate. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Charleston, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service begins. \r\nBorn February 27, 1929, in Charleston, IL, Patsy was the daughter of George and Eunice (Winnett) Hill. She married Estel 'Bill' Huffman, her loving husband of sixty-five years, on February 26, 1946 in Charleston, IL. He passed away on January 9, 2012. Survivors include their children, Sandra Huffman of Mattoon, IL, Bill Huffman and wife Connie of Lake Mattoon, IL, John Huffman and wife Debra of Key Largo, FL; two brothers, Richard 'Dick' Hill and wife Beverly of Sugar Grove, GA, and Nathan 'Jerry' Hill and wife Betty; one sister, Georgia Sue Tache of Charleston, IL; six grandchildren, Brent Redfern, Mike Redfern and wife Kim, Kaylee Redfern, Brian Huffman and wife Kristin, Sarah Muir and husband Corey, and Jenifer Cooper and husband Marty. She leaves twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bob, Tom and Larry Hill; and one sister, Lela Kellogg. \r\nMrs. Huffman was a member of the First Christian Church of Mattoon, IL, where she sang in the church choir. Her interests included family genealogy, and interior design. As an active volunteer in her community, Patsy had been a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Troop Leader, and a volunteer for Lincoln Log Cabin. She enjoyed swimming and participating in sports activities, boating, and was a NASCAR fan. Patsy was a loving wife for 65 years, a wonderful mother, and an adoring sister. She treasured her friends and cherished her family.
