Mary L. Trower

Mattoon, IL-Mary Lucille Trower, 96, of Mattoon, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011, in her residence.\r\n\r\nGraveside service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, Illinois with Reverend Brooke Davis officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will take place in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, Illinois 61938, is in charge of the arrangements. \r\n\r\nMrs. Trower was born March 28, 1915, in Castlewood, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Fred and Annie Bell (Clark) Lotz of Peever, South Dakota. She married Wesley Wilson Trower on November 28, 1934 in Millbanks, South Dakota. She moved with Wesley to Mattoon, Illinois in 1934. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1982. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Ann, and her husband, Jerry Cizak of Greenup, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Rosemary Trower of Mattoon, Illinois; seven grand children, Deena Lyn Hamilton, husband Warren, Sheila Kay Wilson, husband Dirk, Tammy Ann James, husband David, Charles Robert Sly, wife Sue, Scott Joseph Sly, wife Penny, Christine Ann Clapp, husband Jack, Toni Lynn Elliott, husband Robert; 16 great-grand children; and six great-great grand children; and her best friends, Red and Olive Easton. \r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Annie Lotz, her husband, Wesley Trower, one son, James Wesley Trower, one grand daughter, Kimberly Sue Trower, two brothers, and three sisters. \r\n\r\nMary was a member of Real Life Community Church, Mattoon, Illinois. She was employed at Sally Ann Bakery for a number of years. When they closed their doors, she went to work for Wilb Walker's in the bakery on Western Avenue. She loved the Lord first and foremost, but then came her grandchildren. She also loved cleaning the house, working in her garden, raking leaves, and mowing her yard. At 95, she still continued to mow her lawn. She was a very hard worker.
