June Beverly (Anderson) Dooley\r\nMattoon, IL 'June Beverly (Anderson) Dooley, age 85, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 2:03 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Odd-fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL. The funeral service in her honor will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church of Mattoon, IL. Reverend Arthur Woolverton will officiate. Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL, 61938.\r\nBorn June 12, 1926, in Chicago, IL, June was the daughter of Willard A. and Ethel M. (Weightman) Anderson. She married John W. Dooley on September 9, 1949. He survives. In addition to her loving husband, June is survived by their five children, James R. Dooley and wife Teresa of Bloomington, IL; Janet S. Ronchetti and husband Scott of Mattoon, IL; Judith A. Helfrich and husband Bruce of Versailles, KY; Jeffrey N. Dooley of Charleston, IL, and Jay C. Dooley and wife L.A. of Findlay, IL; eleven grandchildren, Aaron Dooley of Bloomington, IL, Jessica Dooley of Bloomington, IL, Amanda Kessler and husband Chris of Arcola, IL, Nathan Saegesser and wife Natalie of Chicago, IL, Seth Helfrich and wife Stephanie of Versailles, KY, Matt Helfrich of Indianapolis, IN, Christa Benson and husband Jesse of Abilene, TX, Breanna Stark and husband Wade of Springfield, MO, Megan Dooley of Urbana, IL, Taylor Dooley of St. Joseph, IL, and Joshua Ekiss and fianc' Jessica Collard of Lovington, IL; eight great-grandchildren, Avery Kessler, Jacey Kessler, Christian Helfrich, Lucy Helfrich, Lilia Benson, Alexis Dooley, Dominik Ekiss, and Dalton Ekiss; and one sister-in-law, Mary Lois Yegerlehner of Clay City, IN. June was preceded in death by both parents; one grandson, Austin Dooley; and one daughter-in- law, Kim Dooley.\r\n\r\nJune was a 1944 Graduate of Forman High School, Chicago, Illinois, and a 1950 graduate of the National College of Education in Evanston, IL, After graduation, she worked as a stay-at-home-mom until she began her teaching career at Bennett School in Mattoon, IL in 1968. There she taught Second Grade until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mattoon, IL, where she had served as Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Choir and Esther Circle. She also held memberships in the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, and Coles County Retired Teachers Association, and was a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. In years past, she served as Den Mother for Cub Scouts of America Pack 75, Girl Scouts of America Brownie Leader, and Coles County 4-H leader. June enjoyed travelling, flower gardening, and adored her dogs.
