Felecia Lee Thackrey

Felecia Lee Thackrey, age 77 of Mattoon, IL passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at Mattoon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. A memorial service in her honor will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at The Fields Church, 900 Dewitt Avenue East, Mattoon, IL 61938. Pastor Travis Spencer will officiate. The visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938 is in charge of services. Felecia was born on June 8, 1947, in Louisville, IL to the late Elmer Lee and Martha Ellen (Goodman) Thackrey. She is survived by four children: Romara Renee Cushman and husband Bill of Manteno, IL, Marnie Lee Henderson and husband Martin of Mattoon, IL, Donald Delane Harrington and wife Mary of Coal City, IL, Cory Jay Harrington and wife Jen of Homewood, IL; one sister, Vicki Payne and husband Mitch of Xenia, IL; thirteen grandchildren: Tiffany Fullerton, Kaylor Fullerton, Martina Cook, Miles Henderson, Katelyn Cisco, Taylor Harrington, Tabitha Harrington, Declan Harrington, Camden Harrington, Nicholas Harrington, Nathan Harrington, Heather Smith, and Haley Harrington; seven great-grandchildren; and beloved dog, Hannah. Felecia was a follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of The Fields Church in Mattoon, IL. She retired from Central East Alcoholism & Drug Council (CEAD) where she was a counselor dedicated to helping people overcome addiction. A determined and independent woman, she lived her life by example as she held tight to her Savior. She began each day with her Daily Devotional and was always willing to help those in need. She enjoyed road trips, vacations, watching game shows, her favorite movie, Dirty Dancing, listening to Christian music, Elvis, and 90’s Country music. She had a special fondness for dogs. Her love and dedication to her children and grandchildren was evident. She was always present and available when needed. Although dearly missed, the family will find comfort knowing she is with her Father in Heaven, and will hold tight to the many special memories.
