Mattoon, IL-Ashley J. Jewell, age 28, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 7:56 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.\r\n\r\nThe funeral service in her honor will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938 with Pastor Adam Roseboom officiating. Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, June 26, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home.\r\n\r\nBorn September 20, 1984, in Tuscola, IL, Ashley was the daughter of James A. and Debbie (Anderson) Embry. She married Gerold Jewell on March 1, 2008, in Mattoon, IL. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, Debbie Sloan and husband Rick of Arcola, IL; her father, James A. Embry and wife Edna of Mattoon, IL; four children, Emma York, Aden York, Carson Jewell, and Avery Jewell, all of Mattoon, IL; two sisters, Sasha Embry of Springfield, IL and Marissa Embry of Arcola, IL; one brother, Daniel Ingram of Sullivan, IL; her father-in-law, Andy Jewell of Effingham, IL; mother-in-law, Kathy Jewell and special friend Eric Giesler of Mattoon, IL; sister-in-law, Andrea Morrison and husband Chris of Mattoon, IL; one niece, Sophie Morrison of Mattoon, IL; and maternal grandparents, Charlie Anderson and wife Gussie of Silver City, NM and Jeanie Dowell and husband Delbert of Arcola, IL. Ashley was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Chester and Virginia Embry.\r\n\r\nAshley was a member of the Riddle PTA, active with Relay for Life and an avid Packers fan. A wonderful wife and a loving mother, Ashley cherished her family more than anything. There was no sacrifice that she was unwilling to make for her children, including the ultimate sacrifice of giving her own life to give life to her newborn.
