Timothy "Tim" James Walk

Timothy “Tim” James Walk, age 66 of Mattoon, IL passed away at 11:41 AM, Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. A funeral service in his honor will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938. Pastor Lonnie Stewart will officiate. The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Liberty Life Church, 1101 Prairie Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938. Tim was born on February 13, 1957 to James Joseph and Sherry Lee (White) Walk. He married Lisa Ann Donaldson on October 7, 1979 in Beecher City, IL; she survives and resides in Mattoon, IL. He is also survived by his mother; one daughter, Christin Eickberg and husband Preston of Villa Park, IL; one sister Gina L. Bradtke and husband Brian of Mattoon, IL; two grandchildren, Gwen Eickberg of Elk Grove Village, Eliot Eickberg of Villa Park, IL; one nephew, Jordan Walk of Mattoon, IL. He was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Walk. Utilizing his talents and passions, Tim was a successful entrepreneur with numerous businesses such as T. J.’s on Hair, Wammy Perpetrators Computer Repair, and the Karate Institute. Over the years he held memberships in Mattoon Lions Club, Cosmetologist Illinois, and United States Black Belt Association. Through the years he obtained several degrees in various martial arts. Most recently being promoted to the rank of Kudan/Ninth Degree Black Belt and elevated to the license of Menkyo Hanshi through the Ryukyu Kenpo Rengokai which is the highest license usually seen in our time, from the ancient classical Menkyo system. Tim was a dedicated member of the Liberty Life Church of Mattoon, IL, holding the position of corporate board member and CFO and was an ordained minister with Faith Christian Fellowship International. He loved sharing the word of God and enjoyed meeting with his Christian friends for bible study or rolling around on a mat grappling with someone. Having a love for people, Tim never knew a stranger and often would buy an unfamiliar person a coffee or soda and say, “I think we are going to be really good friends”. He enjoyed dining out for lunch, and spending time with his wife, Lisa, doing whatever she needed him to do. As a man of faith whose life made an impression on many, Tim will be lovingly remembered.
