Brenda K. Beavers Mattoon, IL-Brenda K. Beavers, age 78 of Mattoon, IL, formerly of Sullivan, IL passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 1:17 P.M. at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. Graveside services will be held at Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan, IL on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Richard Coen officiating. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Ave., Mattoon, IL 61938 is presiding over the arrangements. Brenda was born on February 12, 1937 in Sullivan, IL, the daughter of Robert and Eileen (Myers) Sullivan. She married Larry Beavers her high school sweetheart and the love of her life on August 24, 1956 in Sullivan, IL. Brenda is survived by her husband Larry Beavers of Mattoon, IL; one son, Jeffrey Beavers and his wife Nancy of Shelbyville, IL; one daughter Teresa Nollau and her husband David of Smithton, IL; four grandchildren, Adam Nollau and Chelsea Nollau of Smithton, IL, Jared Beavers and his wife Amanda of Shelbyville, IL and Emily Hewitt and her husband Bryan of Shelbyville, IL; one great-grandchild, Stella Beavers of Shelbyville, IL; one brother, Michael Sullivan of Greencastle, IN; two sisters, JeanAnn Glasnovich and her husband John of Galesburg, IL and Susan Rauch and her husband Ken of Sullivan, IL; one aunt, Maxine Sentel of Neoga, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. Brenda was a member of the First Christian Church of Sullivan, IL and a former employee of Dr. Larson and Dr. Kauder of Shelbyville, IL Brenda was a woman of a traditional style of living. Her love and passion for horses, led her to owning, caring for and horseback riding starting from early childhood and continuing into her adult life. She had insatiable desire for reading completing a countless number of books. Fond of traveling, she appreciated her winters spent in Key West, FL. She cherished her time spent with her departed canine companion “Schnotz”. However, Brenda’s greatest gratification was the love and tender kindness of her devoted husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild family and friends.
