Daniel Jay Walk Daniel Jay Walk, age 47, of Cooks Mills, IL, passed away at 5:54 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012, in Douglas Care & Rehabilitation Center in Mattoon, IL.
The funeral service in his honor will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Dennis Kollross will officiate. Burial will take place in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, in Cooks Mills. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL. There will be a time of sharing held at 6:45 p.m.
Born November 26, 1965, in Mattoon, Illinois, Daniel was the son of James and Sherry (White) Walk. His mother survives.
Along with his mother, Sherry, Daniel is survived by one son, Jordan Walk, of Cooks Mills, IL; one brother, Tim Walk and his wife, Lisa, of Mattoon, IL; one sister, Gina Bradtke and her husband, Brian, of Mattoon, IL; one niece, Christin Eickberg and her husband, Preston, and their children: Eliot Eickberg and Gwen Eickberg, all of Villa Park, IL. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Beetz.
Mr. Walk was preceded in death by his father, James Walk.
Daniel was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He worked hard as owner and operator for Dan’s Handyman Services. He was a 1984 graduate of Mattoon High School. Daniel could fix anything, and in his spare time he enjoyed working on cars. He also enjoyed listening to a vast variety of good music, playing cards, tending to his garden, and canning. More than anything, he cherished spending time with his son, Jordan, and playing with his dog, Beetz.
