Mattoon, IL – Donna M. Oye, age 68, of Mattoon, IL, formerly of Champaign, IL, passed away at 6:20 a.m., February 27, 2010, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.
The visitation in her honor will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL, 61938. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Oye was born March 19, 1941, in Greenville, IL, the daughter of the late Alva M. and Philabena Mae (Spies) Kilman. She married Larry D. Oye on October 21, 1969, in Mattoon, IL. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Angie Rusk and husband Tom of Columbus, IN, and Keith Oye and wife Amy of Champaign, IL and five grandchildren, Lindsey Oye and Lauren Rusk of Columbus, IN, and Carter Oye , Caleb Oye, and Cory Oye, all of Champaign, IL. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Jerry Kilman; and one sister, Sandra Dinkelman.
Mrs. Oye was a homemaker and provided child care in her home. Jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles were some of her hobbies. Donna was very proud of her involvement with the Mattoon High School Class of 1960 Commemorative. She loved fishing, traveling, and vacationing and was an avid Illini fan. However, spending time with family and friends was her favorite pastime. Her heart was especially touched by her husband, children, and grandchildren.
