Mattoon, IL – June Frances Welch, age 86, of Mattoon, IL, went home to be with the Lord, at 7:49 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.
The funeral service in her honor will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Mattoon Faith Fellowship church, 1205 Moultrie Avenue, Mattoon, IL, with Brother Tom Stelle and Robert Dolan officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, rural Coles County. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. Welch was born February 24, 1924, in Urbana, Illinois. She married Earnest Welch in Terre Haute, IN, in 1955. He preceded her in death. She is survived by eight children, twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, forty-two great-great grandchildren, and fifty-nine great-great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a dog, “Shep,” and a cat “Lady”.
Mrs. Welch attended the Mattoon Faith Fellowship Church and the New Life Tabernacle Church of Sullivan, IL. She was a volunteer for RSVP and in Musical Nursing Home Ministry. She also enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables.

Funeral Information

The funeral service in her honor will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Mattoon Faith Fellowship church, 1205 Moultrie Avenue, Mattoon, IL, with Brother Tom Stelle and Robert Dolan officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, rural Coles County. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
