Helen Juanita Stretch Mesquite, TX - Helen Juanita Stretch, age 80, of Mesquite, TX, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on January 6, 2010.
Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, Illinois 61938 with Jerry Rardin officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, IL.
Born September 25, 1929, Juanita was the daughter of Reverend James and Stella Campbell, Pastor of Church of the Nazarene in Mattoon, Illinois. She married Roy Franklin Stretch in Mattoon, IL, on September 3, 1949.
Survivors include her beloved husband of sixty years, Roy Franklin Stretch, and daughter Kimberly Graf. Juanita is also survived by her grandchildren: Geoffrey Darling, Christopher Darling, Andrew Graf, and Kevin Graf; nieces and nephews; Linda Foote, Terry Campbell, Jim Campbell, Dale Campbell, Barbara Coble, Wanda Milburn, Dennis Campbell, and Keith Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Leota Thompson; four brothers, Alfred, Edward, Arthur, and George Campbell, and one daughter, Diana Darling.
Juanita worked at the Brown Shoe Company in Mattoon, Illinois; RCA as Quality Inspector in Memphis, Tennessee; and General Electric as Quality Inspector in Plymouth, Florida. Roy and Juanita owned and operated a Sobik’s Sub Shoppe in Eustis, Florida and Deluxe Subs and Such in Mesquite, Texas.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that anchored many with her whit, grace, and acceptance of those who were blessed to know her. Please visit website www.mitchell-jerdan.com to light a virtual candle in her honor, or share a memory with her family.
