Marilyn "Jeanni" Armer

Marilyn “Jeannie” Armer, 75, of Mattoon, died at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Jeanni was born on March 12, 1937, the daughter of Robert Patton and Frances Opal (Jenkins) Ferguson, in Charleston, Illinois. On June 1, 1979, she married the love of her life, Douglas Armer. He survives. She worked for General Electric Company during the late 50’s and early 60’s. Jeanni was an avid Cardinal’s fan, and will be missed by her faithful dog, J.D. She loved going for rides with her husband on their Harley.

She is survived by her husband, Doug, of almost 33 years; Three children, Roberta Sue (Larry) Pyle of Florida, Mark Allen Flaherty of Mattoon, Penni Ann Edwards of Mattoon; Two step-children, Douglas Dean Armer of Pesotum, IL, Lori Lyne Armer of Hayworth, IL; Two brothers, Jimmy (Brenda) Ferguson of Charleston, IL, Rex (Jan) Ferguson of Essex, MA; Six grandchildren, Angela Michelle Giberson, Kayla Renee Edwards, Jared R.E. Edwards, Mark Jeth Edwards, Caleb Armer, and Courtney Armer; and several nieces and nephews. Jeanni adored spending time with her family, and she will be greatly missed by her grandchildren.

Jeanni was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances Ferguson, one brother in infancy, Max, and one sister, Myrna.

Funeral Information

A memorial service celebrating Jeanni’s life will be held at 3 p.m., June 10, 2012 at 716 South 23rd Street, Mattoon, IL.
