Esther Iva Stofferahn

Esther I. Stofferahn, age 93, of Mattoon, IL, died at 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012, in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Burial will take place at a later date in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, Illinois.

Mrs. Stofferahn was born May 25, 1918, in Alpha, Minnesota, the daughter of Ernest and Clara (Emery) Fitzlaff. She is survived by 5 of her ten children, Judith (husband, Clyde) Luzar of Midlothian, IL, Sharon Stofferahn of New Baden, IL, Susan Stofferahn of Ashley, IL, Chris Stofferahn of Salem, IL, and Curtis (Wife, Debbie) Stofferahn, Jr. of Hoyleton, IL; 22 grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Lavern Stofferahn and Dwiane Stofferahn; three daughters, Carol Stofferahn, Ellen Morris, and Barbara Luzar; three grandchildren, Jeff Morris, Clyde Luzar, Jr., and Scott Luzar; 14 brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Esther was of the Lutheran faith. She enjoyed collecting dolls and keychains. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Harmony Center at Odd-Fellow Rebekah Home of Mattoon, IL.

Burial will take place at a later date in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, Illinois.
