Marjorie N. Decker Mattoon, IL – Marjorie N. Decker, age 69, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 1:12 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2010, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral service in her honor will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2010 at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938, with officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn-Mound Cemetery, Charleston, IL. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Decker was born January 6, 1941 in Jewett, Illinois, the daughter of Bernard and Helen (Kincaid) Stevens. She married Allen Decker on July 3, 1969 in Charleston, IL. Survivors include her loving husband, Allen; four children, Frank Brown and special friend Rhonda Scott of Mattoon, IL, Paige McKinney and special friend Stephen Addis of Mattoon, IL, Troy Decker and wife Jeanine of Mattoon, IL, and Kenny Decker and special friend Becka Elzy of Mattoon, IL; three sisters, Vernece Lee of Mattoon, IL, Norma Jordan and special friend Roy Fryer of Mattoon, IL, and Bonnie Kearns of Humboldt, IL; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves her canine companion Miss Daisy. She was preceded in death by both parents.
Mrs. Decker attended the Praise Assembly of God Church. She was a fan of stock car racing at the Charleston Track, enjoyed country music and dancing, camping, and horses. She was also involved with the Mattoon Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
